Science Camp 2015

I went to Science Camp This Summer! It was fun. It was at my friend Zachary's house.

On space day, we watched a video on how astronauts eat their lunch. For snack time, we made astronaut pudding and ate astronaut ice cream. We also learned the names of the planets in order.

On lego day, we did an experiment with a frozen lego guy.We tried to see what thing would melt the ice quicker. We used salt, a lobster pic, a coffee mug filled with room temperature water, and a squeeze bottle filled with cold water. The squeeze bottle worked the best.

On rock and roll day, we made rocks out of food. Afterwards, we got to eat the rocks. We also learned the three types of rocks: Metamorphic, Igneous, and Sedimentary.

On energy day, we made solar ovens out of a pizza box. We made it by putting tinfoil on the lid and
black paper on the bottom. We cooked pizza with it. We also made wind powered cars with a sail.

Summary:

I thought it was fun! My favorite part was unfreezing the lego guy.

Sailing Camp 2015

I went to sailing camp this summer!  It was really fun! It was at Spot Pond. I went with my friend Eric. I met a new friend, Tanner. The counselors were very nice. Their names were Josh, Nik, Jess, Carolyn, Cam, and Chris. I learned to tie knots, like the Bowline and Slip Knot. I also learned Boat Positions and how to steer and rig the boat. I also learned how to tack and jibe.

Before we would go sailing, we would play a game, such as Scramble. You would toss a ball in the air, and wait until it bounces three times. Then you could catch the ball. If you throw the ball at somebody, they're out.
There was also board and card games, such as Uno, Connect 4, Spit, and Mancala.

I also went kayaking. During that, we did a T-rescue. It's when someone falls out of their Kayak, and someone tries to help. The person who did NOT fall out of their boat pulls the other boat beside theirs. Then, the other person climbs into THEIR Kayak. We also played games, like Get the paddle. You played by throwing your paddle into the water, and trying to get it.

On the last day, they let us sail without a counselor!

Summary:

I thought it was fun! The best part was sailing with out a counselor!

Fourth of July Pool Party

Hi! Dominik here. I had a pool party for the Fourth of July!

This picture shows my friends that were at the party
There's James, Mason, Me, Zack, and Zachary. Dimitri also had his friends over, too.

We could play with Bocce Balls, Badminton, Ping pong, Basketball, and other games. I chose to play Badminton and tag. Then, we had hot dogs for dinner.
After we had dinner, we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. Then, we used sparklers and played tag. After that, we went inside and watched a movie.

My favorite part of the party was when we got to play tag. I had a BLAST!!!

More highlights from Jamaica, Mon

So my parents surprised us with a trip to Jamaica for April vacation!!  They even pulled us out of school for the last day before vacation started.  It was so much fun.  We stayed at the Jewel Runaway Bay.  There was so much to do there.  We went to kids camp a couple of times and made homemade pizza, tie-dyed shirts, played wii games, etc.  My dad and I went snorkeling while mom and Dimitri went kayaking.  Mom and I went on a hobie cat ride.  PLUS there was a waterpark right at the hotel - like 50 steps from our room.  The waterpark had two huge slides, an awesome lazy river and a few kiddie slides.  The hotel also had an infinity pool with a swim-up bar where we got to order our own Pina Colada's and Strawberry Daiquiries - YUM!  There was another huge pool with a volleyball net. My mom and I played a lot of volleyball.  The beach was fun too.  Early in the morning we would go to the beach with a bagel and feed the fish.  They would literally jump on us to get the bagel.  In one of the restaurants there was a kids buffet - just our height with just the foods we love including a soft serve ice cream machine and cones!  Let me tell you how awesome it was to have ice cream like whenever you want to!  The people were so nice, too.  I asked one of the workers to get a coconut from a tree and he did and he cut it with a machete and stuck a straw in it for me to drink.  Egg-boy made me eggs whenever I asked and the smoothie man made Dimitri and I banana smoothies every morning because he knew that we loved them.   One night we had dinner at the Japanese steakhouse where Delicious (yes, that was her name!) made us a fun dinner right in front of us.   I hope my parents take us back there again someday.  It was really really awesome!!
